About Doc Mike
My name is Michael Fedak, and I’m popularly known as Doc Mike among my patients and colleagues. I have spent more than 35 years in the dynamic field of Internal Medicine, honing skills and cultivating a deep understanding of healthcare during my career in St. Louis, Missouri.
My journey and personal narrative with type one diabetes, starting from my teens, have instilled in me a passion for providing healthcare and empowering patients through health and exercise awareness.


My Educational Journey
In 1978, I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BS in Biology and earned my medical degree from the University of Missouri/Columbia Medical School in 1982. Moreover, I did my Internal Medicine residency at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO, from 1982 to 1985.
After that, I worked in the Intensive Care Unit at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO. In 1987, I joined Esse Health and have been here the rest of my career. Here, I have served as chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine for 12 years, serving on the board of directors and the executive committee for the board. In addition to being board-certified in Internal Medicine, I became board-certified in Sports Medicine during my tenure. I have also become a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
